While viewing or creating a post on TCU (The Creepypasta Universe), you agree to abide by the following rules. Failure to do so will result in action taken against you or your account here. Don't try to find loopholes around them. They aren't difficult rules to follow, and if you disagree with them, this isn't the website for you.
I. The Creepypasta Universe is a mature community.
Because of the nature of some of the stories on this website, the entire board should be considered only suitable for mature audiences (there may be stories that depict abuse, assault of any kind, OD, suicide, gore, etc.). Any viewer or member here is expected to conduct themselves like adults. It should go without saying that if you decide to ignore this rule and proceed on (either because you believe to be mature enough or for another reason), we aren't responsible for anything you may feel or experience while browsing this forum.
II. Do not belittle or disrespect others or another's content.
Treat everyone and everything on TCU with respect, even if you disagree with what they're saying, and don't make content that offends someone else on purpose. If you think what you're about to say is purposefully disrespectful or harmful, it's a good idea to not say it. We understand sometimes arguments happen. We ask that if one does break out and it seems like it's getting out of hand, ping or message us and we will de-escalate the situation.
III. Vulgar language and profanity is allowed, racial/offensive slurs and remarks are not.
Some people use profanity, and we won't stop them from doing it. Words such as [bitch, fuck, ass, etc.] you're free to say as long as it's not directed at someone else with the intent to offend or harm. Slurs such as [(redacted), cracker, coon, chink, etc.] will not be tolerated in any way shape or form. It's fine, however, if a story has them and it serves a purpose other than to offend the reader.
IV. Do not mini-moderate / pose as a staff member.
It's fine to remind someone else of the rules in a respectful way. It's not fine to impersonate a moderator or administrator and go out of your way to correct someone else. Please, just use the Report Post option, located at the top right corner of every post and we will deal with it by either warning the member, taking down or moving the post, or deleting it altogether.
This is a self-explanatory rule, but it has to be said. Please use common sense and refrain from posting anything that breaks the law. Don't link to a site that has this content either. It will be removed, and you will be banned. In addition to this, do not make a post to solicit funds from anyone else. If it's something such as a Patreon, GoFundMe, etc., let a staff member know beforehand.
While creating or editing your account on TCU, please keep the following in mind:
I. Keep user/display names appropiate.
What we mean by this is that your name on our forum cannot be anything offensive (such as slurs), nothing overly sexual, nor can it promote hateful content or self harm. If an admin or moderator believes your username to be in violation of this rule, we'll ask you to make a new account with a proper name. If it's your display name that's the issue, we'll just ask you to change it.
II. Signatures cannot exceed 500 px.
If you have a signature, please make sure it doesn't go over 500 pixels in height. This is to make sure no one's bottom signature image doesn't take over an entire post (is too big).
III. Profile pictures can't offensive imagery/symbols/depictions.
We're lenient on profile pictures, you can have anything you want as one, non-sexual nudity included. Just make sure whatever your profile image is, it isn't offensive or harmful towards a person or group of people, things, or concepts such as the LGBT community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please message Izaya Grim.
